About Smiley

More Than
Music

Smiley Singh is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst specializing in Autism therapy by day and a world-touring multi-percussionist musician by night. Drawing from his unique, eclectic background, Smiley creates voices for populations who often go unheard.

A graduate of one of only five Grammy Signature Schools in the United States at the time, Smiley is a formally trained orchestral percussionist with expertise in over 30 instruments. His rhythmic foundation spans diverse musical traditions, from Trinidad and Tobago to Ghana, Punjab, and West Africa.

Smiley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a minor in Music Performance and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling, concentrating in Special Education.

From festival stages to private events across the United States and international venues, Smiley Singh continues to push boundaries — using rhythm, advocacy, and authenticity to inspire, educate, and create lasting impact.

By Day

Clinical
Director

As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Smiley serves as a Clinical Director overseeing interventions and programs for over 100 families while leading a team of 45+ clinicians and therapists. Over the past decade in the autism therapy space, he has worked across multiple levels of care — beginning as a therapist and steadily advancing toward board certification and executive leadership.

Driven by both professional expertise and personal experience, Smiley’s path into the field was shaped by witnessing discrimination at a young age. That perspective continues to fuel his commitment to advocating for individuals who are often overlooked or misunderstood.

Using his background in educational psychology and disability studies, Smiley works to expand access to care and challenge stigma — particularly within the South Asian community, where autism is still widely considered a taboo subject. Through community outreach, education, and mentorship, he is actively helping families feel seen, supported, and empowered to seek the services their children deserve.

From intimate, bespoke celebrations to full-scale concert productions, he curates immersive musical experiences tailored to each client — ensuring that no two events are ever the same.

Blending technical mastery with cultural depth and modern energy, Smiley continues to redefine what live percussion can look and feel like — creating moments that resonate far beyond the stage.

#Have You
Smiled Today?

The #HaveYouSmiledToday movement was born during a deeply personal period of mental health challenges. Despite a life filled with opportunity and privilege, Smiley found himself navigating struggles that are often invisible and unspoken. That realization sparked a deeper question: if this is how he felt with access and support, how might others be feeling without those same resources?

What began as a simple question evolved into a growing platform rooted in perspective and connection — a reminder that even in difficult moments, there is always something, however small, worth holding onto.

Within the South Asian diaspora, conversations around mental health have long carried stigma — particularly for men, where emotional expression is often minimized or dismissed. Through #HaveYouSmiledToday, Smiley is working to challenge that narrative by creating space for honest dialogue, vulnerability, and healing.

Using his voice, platform, and lived experience, he continues to show up as a positive change agent — spreading awareness, encouraging connection, and reminding others that even on the hardest days, they are not alone.
